Some newer BMW models have a flaw where the sunroof seal shrinks and leaves a gap where water and debris can enter the drain channels and clog the drain tubes. A clogged sunroof drain can lead to thousands of dollars in damage when the water seeps into the car.

The TPU Gap Filler offers a temporary or permanent solution to fill the gap left by the shrinking sunroof gasket and offers the following benefits:

  • Prevents large debris and dust from entering the sunroof drain system
  • Prevents large amounts of water from entering the sunroof drain system
  • Eliminates wind noise left by the gap
  • Fills the gap to avoid visual eyesore.

The TPU Gap Filler is 3D printed using shore hardness of 95A. TPU is UV and weather resistant.

Installation

Avoid removing the seal from the sunroof as it may be hard to re-install correctly. Instead, you can do the following:

  1. Chose the right size Gap Filler - Slightly longer is better
  2. Push the whole seal back with your fingers, it'll move along the track. Spraying a small amount of silicone lubricant can help.
  3. Insert the Gap Filler on the glass. Use a plastic trim tool
  4. Pull seal back onto the Gap Filler until it sits flush.

Plastic warped but Form&Function Design Reached out to help!

It was a good fit in the beginning but a few days parking in the sun, the plastic got real flimsy and warped.
*UPDATE from 3 stars to 5!* Form&Function promptly reached out to me to address the issue, demonstrating a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. I had a thoughtful and productive email exchange with Dimitri, who went above and beyond to not only find a solution for my specific situation but also to improve the product itself so that others won’t encounter the same issue. I have complete confidence in recommending this product to fellow owners, knowing that this company truly stands behind what they make. They will be sending me a revised piece to replace mine when I didn't even request it. Don't be like me and just rate them 3 stars, REACH OUT to them because they WILL HELP you in a 5 star manner!

Working with David to troubleshoot the issue.

Best money I ever spent!

Drove for the last two years thinking I was gonna have to replace door or hatch seals. It’s like someone left the window open at high speed. Little did I know that the sunroof seals shrink and the small gap that was up there was causing all the noise. Five minutes later everything was fixed!
